The International Secretariat of Duke of Edinburgh's Award International Association is based in London. They exercise functional control over the Regions and National Award Authorities (NAAs) and IOs (Independent Operators) that comes to 113 countries.
In Pakistan there is a Board of Trustees and amongst themselves they elect a Chairperson for 3 year's term who leads the Award Programme in Paksitan. The Board meetings are held annually. National Director serves as Secretary to the Board.
There is a Managing Committee that meets every second month to see the progress achieved and to set the future goals.
The Award Programme in Pakistan is divided into Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore, Quetta and Bahria Zones led by their respective zonal co-ordinator and they finally report to the National Director.
Being Chief Executive, The National Director heads the National Award Authority Office. The National Award Office promotes the Award Programme, looks after finance, arranges publicity, provide traning for trainers and Unit Leaders in Pakistan and abroad. It organises & conduct Award Presentation Ceremonies and assures the participation of Pakistan in Annual Regional Board meeting and triennial International Award Forum. This office does arrange meetings of Board of Trustees, Meetings of Executive Committee, makes budget, raises funds and makes coordination with International secretariat, Asia Pacific Region, other NAAS, Govt. agencies and five zones of the Award Programme in Pakistan. |
